Day 3 @ Beijing

Date: 06/04/09
Time: 10am

Our first stop of the day was the Temple of Heaven, known as 天坛(TianTan) in Chinese.
It was quite interesting to see many elderly people doing all kinds of activities...
Take a look at the pics!

The temple where the Emperors liked to go to...

Me at the entrance! ^^

SzeMian and I!

Vina and I!

Line Dance! 1, 2, 3 and turn!

An old man writing on the floor... it's cool! you don't see this in Singapore!

Long strands of words... WOW!

Another old man playing with the furry thingy... it seems fun! you just have to toss the thing around but it's not easy to handle...

Then, we go to an Enamel Factory... and the products were beautiful!

Jing Tai Lan. Enamel in Chinese...

The making of Enamel...

The end product...

Display of Enamel vases...

Finally, we went to the famous YiHeYuan (also known as The Summer Palace), where the Empress Dowager CiXi lived in... another super crowded place... but the views were nice... =)

The gate...

The introduction of the Summer Palace...

Me and the lake!

The tower at the back was where the Empress Dowager would pray for health and peace...

A Dragon statue...

The longest corridor filled with drawings...

This was our last day at Beijing, and of course, eat Peking Duck was a must! After a disgusting experience of the first "Peking Duck", we decided to order REAL Peking Duck on our own expenses... and we came to this place, one of the 4 top Peking Duck Restaurant in Beijing...

Tian Wai Tian...

Our Main Lead: Peking Duck! (slurps...)

and that's all!
(yahx, and we took the train back to Wuhan...)

The Beijing trip has ended well, though was kind of frustrated, yet it's a fruitful trip... =)
maybe someday, I will want to come Beijing again...

^^

oops... forgot to do the photo credits...
hahax...
thanks szemian, wanyan, zhihui, vina, huiwen, xiumin for the photos! =)
